  • With an area of 17,508 sq. miles, Midi-Pyrénées is the largest region in France. It is composed of eight départements: Ariège, Aveyron, Gers, Haute-Garonne, Hautes-Pyrénées, Lot, Tarn and Tarn-et-Garonne
  • Midi-Pyrénées has six UNESCO World Heritage Sites
  • the region has one National Nature Park, the Pyrénées, and three Regional Nature Parks
  • it is the land of the bastides (those famous mediaeval fortified villages), but also gastronomy, festivals and traditional celebrations
