With three major dance festivals in less than two months, Midi-Pyrénées invites you to join the dance. Flamenco, hip-hop, modern: a variety of styles in a display of breathtaking shows. You won’t believe your eyes!
For the 6th year running, the modern dance festival “C’est de la Danse Contemporaine” helps you discover the creative dance routines of today. Robyn Orlin (South Africa), Saburo Teshigawara (Japan), Lemi Ponifasio (New Zealand)… This year, the festival reaches further afield as artists from around the world share the bill at the 2010 edition; a number of shows will also feature new local talent, starting with Samuel Mathieu and his Généric-X project. Amazing.

At the Hip Hop Ways Festival, prepare to see professional hip-hop dancers strutting their stuff in the most unexpected places. After watching the Fang LAO company in the centre of the Place du Capitole, you can go on to admire the Possue Crew troupe at the Jacobin cloisters in Toulouse… And there’s more! Alongside the professional dancers, amateur artists will present their own routines, inspired by the Junta of the Philippines painting by Goya and the theme of this year’s festival (“School of merit”). Let’s get moving!

Each year as spring approaches, the Flamenco Festival of Toulouse sets the sounds of Spain ringing around the ‘pink city’. Features of this 9th edition include dance shows with Farruco and Estefenia Suissa, as well as concerts with Kiko Ruiz and David Lagos. What’s more, from 4th to 30th March, a retrospective photo exhibition will look back over the past eight years of the festival. Don’t miss it!
