The prestigious artists who perform in Jazz in Marciac say it: «when you come here you never forget it»
Marciac is a 13th century walled city, hidden away in Gers' small valleys. Its ambience, its architecture and its spirit render it typical of this Gascony where D'Artagnan was born. It has authentic charm and here people take the time to live. In Marciac, the foie gras, the wine from the Côtes de Saint-Mont and the Armagnac give a holiday feeling with the taste of jazz.

In Marciac, all is jazz:
Started over 30 years ago by a few friends, Jazz in Marciac has become one of Europe's major festivals. Every summer, the first two weeks in August, some 200,000 spectators come to cheer along the stars of jazz in an irresistible atmosphere. Diana Krall, Bireli Lagrene, Didier Lockwood, Keith Jarrett, Sonny Rollins, Wynton Marsalis...: some of the exceptional artists who have made Marciac a home base.

In the village square, the scene of the «festival Bis» will let you discover today's best musicians for free. High-level training courses and master classes are chances for musicians to get together.
Share passion, send knowledge: the idea enters the rooms of Marciac college where the students may choose a jazz option!

Marciac lives year round. If you come here out of season, you will also be welcomed to music at the autumn, winter and spring sessions, one concert per month. You will visit the Jazz Territories, a museographic space where you can take an initiation trip into the history of jazz.
Art galleries, businesses, restaurants: you will discover a particularly animated village, in a rich patrimony, where the jazz standard has become the symbol of an intense local life.
