TARASCON SUR ARIEGE - Ariège (09)

The "L'Ariégeoise" sports cycling event was founded in 1994 and is classified in the "Mountain" category. It is internationally renowned and welcomes over 3,500 participants from countries such as France, Spain, the Netherlands, England, Italy and even USA. It also caters for cyclotourists, offering three itineraries: La Passejade (75km), La Mountagnole (100km) and the famous "Ariégeoise" (165km). This route is the hardest with three mountain passes to climb. It culminates on the Plateau de Beille at 1,747m altitude.
Experts, please note: The "L'Ariègeoise" is the only French cycling event that has obtained the UCI Goldenbike label. It is recognised by the FFC and is part of the Trophées Label d'Or.
