Spring comes very early here, and soon starts to feel more like summer. This is the perfect time of year for hiking and getting out and about. The peaks of the Pyrenees may still have a covering of snow, but the wheat is already on the blade on the Gascony hillsides and the orchards of Tarn et Garonne are decked out with a veil of hot pink and purple blossom. Between early April and late June, the average maximum temperatures rise from 16 to 24°C.
July and August are months of strong sun and intense heat. The average minimum temperatures, already high, vary between 13 and 15°C in the mornings. Over the course of the day, the average maximum temperatures rise to between 26°C and 28°C, but at night the air cools and has a wonderfully pleasant feel.
