Gers, where people have been growing vines for 2,000 years, is also home to the Comté Tolosan wines, good quality wines that hail from the three départements of Haute Garonne, Tarn et Garonne and Tarn.

And Tarn is also where you will find Côtes du Tarn, a vast vineyard next door to the Gaillac AOP, where some 400 wine growers have gained experience of new vinification techniques to produce well-rounded reds, fruity rosés and dry whites.
Over in Tarn et Garonne the different wines of the Coteaux et Terrasses de Montauban and Lavilledieu are just as appealing.
Head a little further north and you'll enter the welcoming and amazingly varied realm of the Lot wines (Côtes du Lot, Côteaux de Glanes) and the Vins de l’Aveyron, produced all over the département.
In the Pyrenees, Vin d’Ariège, both reds and whites, has also been granted an IGP in recognition of more than 15 years' work on the part of a handful of wine growers who took on the task of re-introducing wine-growing in Ariège. And they have succeeded !
